Minnesota Contractors: An Easy Way to Check A Construction Company’s Contractor License

You want to be sure the contracting company you are considering has a valid Minnesota state contractor’s license. This is very easy to do via the Internet. Go to Minnesota Department of Labor and Industry Website and follow the instructions.

We recommend searching by business license number, although you may also search by company name. Schoenberg Construction’s license number is BC133101. Search the Minnesota Department of Commerce license lookup search tool to verify all general contractor’s licenses.  Or you can call them direct at 651-284-5034 (Licensing).

Additionally, you will want to verify that the construction company has workers’ compensation and liability insurance. This information is listed on the MN contractor’s license look-up page, yet it is wise to request that a current certificate of insurance be sent to you directly from the contractor’s insurance company.
