Cabin Remodeling—Who doesn’t love lakes? In Minnesota, our state is famous for them. and we are known as the Land of 10,000 lakes although we “only” have 11,842 of them!
Cabin Remodel Projects
We recently had the privilege of remodeling a cabin located in central MN. This lake cabin had been in the family for many years, and it needed an update. To give their cabin a new look and feel, the decision was made to remodel. This family had clear goals in mind for their remodeling project.
First, they wanted to upgrade the cabin while maintaining the original structure. So adding an addition or modifying the existing structure was not an option for them. It was also decided to maintain the interior layout of the cabin.
Further, the cabin owners wanted a beautiful space to play in the summer with their kids, family and friends. They also wanted a legacy of sorts to leave their children. Lastly, they wanted the place to be functional as well as lovely.

This remodel wasn’t an easy project which is typical for older structures because they shift and move a lot over time.
As you can see in the before and after photos, even though the cabin structure is crooked, the final results appear square to the eye. The bottom line: This is not an easy result to achieve.
However, this is where the exquisite craftsmanship of Schoenberg Construction comes into play. So does that of the talented team of subcontractors who worked on this project. Together we remodeled this old cabin and turned it into a stunning, modern space.
